Wait on Weight checking

One of my pretty thin friend broke her tibia bone (ankle to knee bone) falling on stairs. So sad.
However, this brings a question and observation to my mind. Slim people normally have weaker bones.Then this brings advantage of being normal or slightly overweight, that is : stronger bones. Bones like muscles become stronger when put under more stress (not abnormally very high stress, which may have other problems).

Considering that advantage of so called overweight or even normal people (who are nowadays called overweight due to well sculpted bodies being publicized in the movies which are never found in real life), is it really such a issue being 5 or 10 kgs overweight?

Our bodies are made to conserve energy, what ever not used is conserved. That way, slightly overweight person should be more able to handle any long time starvation and other calamities. They actually have more chances to survive in such conditions. Our ancestors have gone through such conditions, thats why we have evolved such a energy conserving system, not a hyper-metabolic muscular unnatural body - eating its own muscles. One more observation: Such being could not survive in the natural selection, So be happy, if something goes wrong, you have more chance of survival. :D

Human Sleep Pattern

Can't sleep again at night. It raises a question in my mind - whether we as animals are not supposed to be kept awake all day and sleep at night. Whether it should be like other animals in wild, brief periods of napping in afternoon and other times of the day.
This brings us to another way we humans are playing with nature. That way I think the middle eastern countries are better with their mid day break. Where people can go and take small naps instead of feeling drowsy in the offices in post lunch hours.
Although I still haven't put up the link anywhere, anybody reading these thoughts please leave ur comments.
